Students in Anderson School District Two’s Gifted and Talented program (grades 4-5) will be taking on one of the most historic rivalries in college football history. THE BATTLE OF THE PALMETTO STATE: Clemson Tigers vs. The South Carolina Gamecoks. The students will gain information about the rich history of the football programs at both universities through the use of primary sources and secondary sources, including but not limited to, field trips, interviews, newspapers, journals, video footage, and more. This project will be presented to students the third week of October. It is then they will be presented with a sampling of the history of both teams, video editing, interviewing, primary/secondary sources, etc.
It is important that students’ hard work is celebrated! Therefore, we plan to premiere their finished video projects on March 9 at the Belton Depot (an invitation will be sent home closer to time). The videos will be also displayed at the front of the Belton Area Museum for the remainder of the month and will be permanently housed on the Oral history webpage (coming soon).
Are you a Tiger? A Gamecock?...It doesn't matter this project is sure to be fun for EVERYONE!!! Our goal is to learn that...
